Warks Avon - Wick

Members only

Located   just   outside   of   Pershore,   the   Avon   at   Wick   winds   its way   through   stunning   countryside.   This   ½   mile   stretch   covers three   fields   and   offers   the   angler   a   wide   range   of   species   to target.   The   river   has   an   even   pace   with   average   depths   of   ten feet   and   as   could   be   expected,   bream   feature   in   catches   with fish    in    excess    of    seven    pounds.    Chub    and    roach    are    well spread   through   the   section   with   float   tactics   proving   an   effective method   of   catching   them.   While   not   as   prolific   as   the   upper reaches   of   the   river,   barbel   are   present   as   well   as   carp,   though these   fish   are   quite   nomadic   and   locating   them   can   be   tricky. There   are   also   good   pike   and   large   perch   present,   as   well   as the elusive zander. Dry   weather   riverside   parking   is   allowed   at   Wick   though   this   is only   allowed   after   the   grass   has   been   cut.   Cars   must   stay   to   the riverside and not go across fields.
