Easy   to   access   from   all   areas,   this   one   mile   long   stretch   of   the Staffs   -   Worcester   canal   is   a   popular   venue   for   members   and matches alike. To   complement   the   hoardes   of   gudgeon   there   is   a   healthy   stock of   roach   and   perch.   Skimmers   put   in   an   appearance   but,   as   can be expected, are quite localised. Normal   canal   tactics   of   long   pole   to   the   far   margin   or   shorter whips down the boat channel are effectve. The   mobile   predator   angler   fares   well   on   the   stretch   whether lure   or   bait   fishing   for   pike   or   dropshotting   and   working   jigs   for perch. Day   tickets   cost   £3   and   available   on   the   bank   or   in   advance from   the   secretary   or   assistant   secretary,   payment   is   by   Paypal only. The   club   welcomes   match   bookings   for   the   Stewponey   with pegs   costing   £3   each.   With   a   mile   of   towpath   the   stretch   can accommodate large bookings. Parking   is   in   the   free   area   at   the   top   of   the   stretch   and   the   start of the section is 100yds away along an easy path. Directions: Postcode: DY7 6RH (residential buildings opposite) What3words: small.cherubs.speaker From North: Follow   the   A449   through   Prestwood   to   traffic   light   junction   with A458   Bridgnorth   Road.   Take   right   turn   onto   A458,   parking   is 50yds on the left. From South: Follow    A449    north    towards    Wolverhampton.    At    traffic    light junction   turn   left   onto   A458   Bridgnorth   Road.   Parking   area   is 50yds on the left. From West: Follow    A458    towards    Stourbridge.    Just    before    traffic    light junction with A449 look for the parking area on the right. To    access    the    stretch    cross    the    road,    take    the    short    track towards the canal and pass under the road bridge
