This
½
mile
section
of
the
Severn
is
situated
a
few
hundred
yards
downstream
from
Bevere
Weir.
The
river
here
has
taken
on
the
look
of
the
lower
Severn
and
has
a
good
average
depth
with
a
steady
powerful
flow.
It
is
an
ideal
habitat
for
many
species
offering
the
angler
a
wide
range
of
choices.
Big
barbel
are
present
as
well
as
a
fair
number
of
nomadic
carp.
The
slow
flow
is
ideal
for
the
static
angler
wishing
to
sit
on
rods
waiting
for
these
fish
to
be
drawn
into
a
baited
swim.
Float
fishing
with
a
long
rod
is
a
superb
way
to
catch
the
chub
and
maybe
even
locate
some
of
the
big
roach
that
the
stretch
is
known
for.
Northwick
is
a
great
venue
throughout
the
season
but
really
comes
into
its
own
in
the
winter
months
when
large
shoals
of
fish congregate in the area.
The
deep
margins
and
steady
flow
also
make
this
a
paradise
for
predators
and
large
pike
and
perch
lie
in
wait
under
the
marginal cover.
Access
is
good
with
the
public
car
park
only
150yds
from
the
downstream boundary for the stretch.
