Situated   in   the   heart   of   the   Teme   valley   this   1   mile   long   stretch offers   something   for   all   anglers.   Long   smooth   glides   give   way   to fast   shallow   gravel   runs   that   then   drop   into   deep   moody   pools. Static   fishing   to   build   up   a   swim   certainly   works   but   the   stretch is   also   perfectly   suited   to   the   mobile   angler.   Wandering   around looking   for   fish   and   dropping   baits   into   likely   spots   gets   the   best out of this wonderful piece of river. Barbel   are   present   and   certainly   earn   their   nickname   of   `Teme Tigers`,   giving   a   superb   account   of   themselves   in   the   fast   flow. When    found    they    respond    to    all    methods    though    the   Teme favourite   of   trundling   meat   certainly   seems   to   be   irrestible   to these fish. There   are   plenty   of   chub   in   the   stretch   and   again,   these   fish can   be   caught   on   a   variety   of   methods.   Large   fish   have   been seen   in   Knightwick   and   the   mobile   angler   prepared   to   hunt them   down   in   the   myriad   of   holes,   slacks   and   gaps   in   the   trees could find themselves attached to the fish of a lifetime. The   nature   of   the   river   is   ideal   for   game   fish   and   there   are   both brown   trout   and   grayling   present.   With   the   Teme   being   quite   a narrow   it   is   ideally   suited   to   long   trotting   tactics,   especially   with a centrepin for that traditional touch. Fly   fishing   for   the   trout   is   allowed   during   the   coarse   fishing close season.  Access   is   good   with   parking   available   by   the   riverside   in   the first field during dry weather.
