Gothersley
Day Ticket
A
1000yd
long
stretch
of
the
Staffs
Worcester
canal,
the
section
runs from Gothersley Lock to Prestwood Bridge.
As
well
as
gudgeon
the
stretch
also
contains
a
lot
of
skimmer
bream,
roach,
perch
and
pike.
Pole
tactics
allow
the
angler
to
present
baits
close
to
far
margin
features
and
this
certainly
the
way
to
approach
this
venue.
Shorter
poles
and
rods
allow
the
angler
to
fish
the
boat
channel
giving
a
good
second
line
of
attack.
There
is
limited
parking
in
roadside
lay-bys
at
both
end
of
the
stretch.

the

to
the

turn

Ashwood
Lower
Lane
then
take
the
next
left.
Continue
past
Navigation
pub,
around
the
bend
then
turning
left
onto
Greensforge
Lane.
Continue
for
3/4
mile
parking
in
lay-by
on
left.
Access
to
the
stretch
is
via
the
lane
that
crosses
the
brook.
Walk
to
the
canal
bridge
that
marks
the
top
of
the
section.
The
car
park
for
the
bottom
of
the
section
is
located
2/3
of
a
mile
further on

Turn
left
at
the
traffic
lights
signed
`A458
Bridgnorth`.
Turn
right
in
1/2
mile
onto
Greensforge
Lane.
Follow
lane
for
1
1/4
miles
to
lower
parking
area.
The
top
parking area is 2/3 mile further up the lane.
