This
500yd
section
of
the
Severn
is
situated
around
Bevere
Weir
and
includes
the
island.
Above
the
weir
the
river
is
slow
and
is
the
ideal
habitat
of
bream.
Bevere
has
a
resident
population
of
carp
with
fish
in
excess
of
20lbs
being
caught
and
there
are
certainly
enough
carp
present
to
make
them
a
viable
target.
Plenty
of
small
fish
can
be
found
in
this
section
and
the
perch
have
thrived
with
good
numbers
of
fish
present.
The
club
does
not
have
the
rights
immediately
below
the
weir
but
the
stretch
continues
150yds
downstream.
This
piece
of
water
has
a
completely
different
character
with
a
faster
flow
and
the
chub
fishing
here
can
be
superb
with
waggler
or
stick
tactics giving great sport.
Access
to
the
stretch
involves
a
walk
of
around
350yds
from
the
secure
parking
area
but
the
quality
of
the
fishing
makes
this
more than worthwhile.
